Hosting your first session

Once you've created your session via your Jira cloud or in the Quely for Jira app, follow these steps to host it:



Open Your Session

  • Find your session in the Quely for Jira app
  • Click the three dots () in the top right corner
  • Select "Host session"
  • Your session will open on Quely.io


Choose Your Template


Select either:

  • ALIGN: For agile ceremonies and team discussions
  • ASSIGN: For managing task assignments and team capacity



Add Items (Optional)


You can also add issues or Topics to your session on this page


  • Click " Add Items" at the bottom of your item list.


Add Items

  • You can choose to add a Jira work Item, or create a Topic



Jira Work Item


  • Select the appropriate workspace and project and click on "next".



  • Search for and select the issues you'd like to add to your session list.



  • The selected issues will appear on your session list.



Topics



  • Add your "Title", and some more context





  • Attach relevant files and click on "Create Topic"




Groups


You can create a "Group" to merge multiple work items and Topics into a folder, this is useful for sessions that have multiple items or topics that needs to be grouped under specific citeria




Invite Your Team


  • Click " Send Invite" in the top right corner.


  1. Search for your team members in the search portal.
  2. Copy the session link and share it directly with participants.
  3. You can foward your Quely session link to a dedicated Slack Channel
  4. Click on Invite to send out your session links to selected team members


You should be able to find all team members who have used Quely at least once




Your session is now ready. Participants can join once they have the link.


Note: Make sure all participants are members of your Atlassian organization.


Best practice: As a new organization using Quely for the first time, you should copy the link to the session and share it with your team to invite them.
