1. Enabling and Accessing the Highlights Component

To begin using the Highlights Component, it must first be enabled for your current session or set as a default for all issues.

1.1. Enabling the Highlights Component:

  1. Navigate to the "Components" section within your session.
  2. Locate the "Highlight" component, identifiable by its lightbulb icon. Click the checkbox next to it to activate it for your current session.
  3. (Optional) Apply to All Issues: To make "Highlight" a default component available across all your issues, toggle the switch labeled "Apply selected components to all issues?" to the "on" position.
  4. Click the "Save" button located at the bottom-right of the Components screen.
  5. A confirmation pop-up titled "Set as component as Default" will appear. To confirm this setting for future sessions, click "Save" on this pop-up.

1.2. Accessing the Highlights Section:
Once enabled, the "Highlights" component will appear as an expandable section within your active topic. Click on the "Highlights" section title to expand it and reveal its content.

2. Understanding the Highlights Section and AI Integration

The Highlights section is designed to centralize and categorize important information, with AI actively assisting in the capture process.
2.1. Initial State and AI Guidance:

  • When the Highlights section is empty, it will display the message: "No Highlights."
  • A helpful prompt will guide you: "Start discussing to capture key insights and takeaways here as you go." This indicates that the AI monitors your discussions to identify potential highlights.

2.2. Highlight Categories:
The Highlights section organizes your captured and AI-identified insights into distinct categories, accessible via tabs at the top-right of the section:

  • "Potential new items": This tab (e.g., "Potential new items 0") serves as a temporary holding area for newly identified insights or discussion points. The AI system contributes to populating this section by automatically detecting and suggesting relevant content from your ongoing discussions. These items may later be refined and moved into "Takeaways."
  • "Takeaways": This tab (e.g., "Takeaways 2") lists the confirmed and finalized key insights, decisions, or action items that have been captured, whether manually added or confirmed from AI suggestions.

3. Capturing New Highlights (AI-Assisted Workflow)

As you engage in discussions (e.g., through chat, or other verbal/textual interactions within Quely), the AI actively monitors the content to identify and flag potential key insights, decisions, or action items.
